这个元件可以提供一个需要的延时动作特性与应用电流的关系曲线或是可以用作一个简单的定时限元件。接地电流输入值是由接地输入CT测量得的量值并且是基本相量或是有效值幅值。有两种复位的方法:“瞬时”和“延时”(详见反时限过流曲线特性部分)。当元件被闭锁,时间累计器将会依据相应的复位特性复位。例如,如果元件复位特性设为“瞬时”并且元件闭锁,时间累计器将会立即被清空。
